I have to say that we have the best dog ever, though I might be a little biased. He's a six-year-old miniature schnauzer I got from a breeder in PA when he was just 8 weeks old. He's been with me through good times and bad, heart ache and triumph, and single/dating/engaged/married. He doesn't do any useful tricks and doesn't always come when we call him, but he always seems to know when I need extra cuddle time.

And the best thing - Scott loves him just as much as I do! See for yourself:

Can you believe it?! Well, I guess it isn't that hard - it's already more then two weeks into the new year. Strangely, I haven't had any trouble remembering to write 2012 on everything. I always seem to have an easier time remembering with even years.

We spent Christmas in Texas with my side of the family. It was awesome! My sister is getting married in May (I'm matron of honor!) and we spent some time doing wedding planning and chatting over how excited we were for the big day. I can't wait for it to arrive!

I was on call for NYE 2011 so I kept it pretty tame. Our good friends, Ruth and Adam, were having a party at their place right around the corner, so we spent our night there with a lot of our other friends. It was a lot of fun catching up with everyone!

Here are my resolutions for 2012:

- Photograph/blog more
- Slow down and enjoy being married (it's awesome!)
- Be more attentive to my friendships
- Learn Spanish (found out my company will pay for it!)
- Run the Rock N Roll DC half-marathon and the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler this spring
- Continue to make my health a priority
- Be more financially prudent, save more/pay off debt
- Renovate the basement!

Sadly, I have no pictures to post from our adventures in Texas or NYE. I'm going to try to make more of an effort to take pictures this year. And post more often! There might be some big announcements coming ... stay tuned ;-)
